Plural place in Alsace – Nature

At the same time a micro biodynamic wine estate, a place for tourist stay, a place to host exhibitions, writing workshops, events focused on reading and writing, the Vignoble Klur opened to artist residencies in 2024. Here we question the relationship to the place: how it creates a link and how the links create a place.

Description of the area and neighborhood : The road stops at the village nestled between vineyards and forest in an enclosed valley. Nature is in the immediate vicinity, one of the paths to St Jacques runs alongside the house, the environment is very calm while not being isolated. Accessible on the estate: garden, vegetable garden, vineyards, forest. In the heart of wine-growing Alsace, a little off the wine route, Katzenthal is sought after by walkers for the quality of its trails and its castle. Strasbourg is only 30 minutes by train, the same for Basel (CH) or Freiburg i.B. (D) to the Black Forest by bus. The Rhine is 15 km away.
Facilities (wifi, phone..) : Accommodation is available on site (in a shared apartment or independent studio depending on the season) fully equipped and furnished. The village is 6km from Colmar, Tgv station, and has a bakery/grocery store 2 minutes walk from the house. Other shops 1km away. Delivery of organic baskets to order every Wednesday at home.

Wish in exchange for the hosting (ie:a work of art, an original work, singing or painting lessons, a private concert or any other art form) : We listen to the expectations and possibilities of the person hosted and strive to establish contacts that may be interesting for their residence. Our approach is part of a territorial project and establishing relationships with local actors seems very important to us (media library, associations, bookstore, gallery, art workshops, etc.) in forms to be defined and or invented (writing workshops, public reading, performance, etc.). This joint project can only be done while respecting the balance between the guest's need for creative time and the venue's expectations regarding the progress of their project.

    In a master’s house with its 4-hectare park, on the edge of Livradois and just 20 minutes from Clermont-Ferrand (Auvergne) —or only a few minutes from Vertaizon train station—come and flourish in a setting ideal for meditation and creation.

    The main materials available include wood, leaves, grass, hay (seasonal), soil (ready to dig!), stones, and occasionally various discarded items. The garden and park are perfect for sculptural creations. A well-equipped workshop allows for cutting, sawing, gluing, and welding. Barns (unheated) provide space for your work. A guest room or bed and breakfast accommodation will be available, depending on availability.

I am also a creator and I am currently looking for new artistic encounters, which can inspire me in this new home which needs to be recharged with good vibrations... I create jewelry and I make paintings...solar and bear, I am attentive and respectful of everyone's needs for solitude or sharing 😉 Rivers, sea and wild nature are not far away.
