Hello,

We’re art & research company Be, labeled by the French Ministry of Culture’s “GÉNÉRATION BELLE SAISON». We realize immersive performances in France and in & beyond Europe, so we’re very interested in meeting other artists, performers, curators, researchers, scientists, European companies that have a commun vision, also in order to build future partnerships.

We truly think that artistic exchange would give us a chance to connect with, and be inspired by, the artistic community on a global scale.

Based in Cagnes-sur-Mer (France) and founded in 2009 by Caroline Duval, artist associated with the Art and Youth National Childhood Scene of Forum Jacques Prévert in Carros-le-neuf, actress, singer, composer, author and art therapist, we use the performance art to question the place of sensitivity in the creative process and the effects of art on our society from an early age (childhood from 8 months included).

We open contemporary and experimental spaces in order to create them with the public. Our performance is dedicated to each participant and turns him from participant to performer.

Our line of work and research focuses on body, voice the imaginary through movement, singing and writing, mainly through improvisation and immersive performance.

We like sharing and we are open to exchange about our practices, perform together and create a co-written ephemeral artwork.

In this sharing spirit, we would be glad to welcome the emerging and professional artists (musicians, dancers, scenographers, anyone interested to contribute with their skills and investment) from all over the world here in France during our 13th edition of the immersive artistic project “Sensibilis 2023”.

We consider this way of co-creation as an essential part of our artistic process as it will keep us sharing our experience without neglecting our projects and thus, valuing each artistic practice.

Propositions artistiques en échange de la résidence (oeuvres, cours, ateliers, dîner, concert...) : We offer a workshop or/and immersive performance according to tailor-made needs (to be discussed together). Our immersive workshops mix body expression, mixed media, singing, poetry, writing. We can share immersive improvisations and somatic practices (art therapy). We would like to welcome the artists from all over the world here in France during our 13th edition of the immersion in the artistic process "Sensibilis 2023" in order to exchange about our practices, perform together and create a co-written ephemeral artwork.
Description environment are you looking for ( nature, urban, other…) : Thirds places, living spaces, teatral and cultural operators, associations, retirement homes, public places, schools, hospitals. Meeting the locals of different countries, villages could be part of our project (the marine world, biologists and protectors of the earth...) Place where we can feel freedom, beaches, fields, trees, and other places that are more wild, sensory and its inspiring elements… Especially space in the middle of nature for performing : garden with trees, mountains, seaside...
Describe your projects for a residence : We have an international artistic project « J’irai, je vais et je suis à Wuhan» (“I will go, I go and I am in Wuhan") aimed at sharing the art of performance in a spirit of co-construction with artists and researchers in different countries. This project raises the question about the spaces of freedom when our psychic and physical bodies are constrained. It is a reflection on transformation and about the way each human being draws on his or her creative resources and on his/her environment to “reopen the world” after an ordeal, whatever it may be. The road to Wuhan becomes a symbolic journey against the tide of the virus where works, creative processes and artistic acts are co-constructed with audiences, whatever they may be, in order to pose on the place of Wuhan a humanist and committed artistic act. filled with hope and alive. Film of 8 performances created in the moment after a 2 hour lab with juniors and seniors at Lycée Matisse in Vence as part of the first part of our international project « J’irai, je vais et je suis à Wuhan» (“I will go, I go and I am in Wuhan") : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxrruzEbsB0&t=2s Seven cycles were experimented in this performance : Constrained bodies (physical and mental), crossings (boundaries and movements), opening (awareness) , resilience (inner strength), walk (symbolic action), transformation (What acts in spite of us), regeneration (How to become?).

Description of the type of workspace needed (office, studio, rehearsal space…) : Rehearsal space or studio with a single room or collective accommodation. Depending on the time of the residence, natural materials are welcomed : the manufacture of natural materials for outfits or decorations (with a workshop would be perfect). We could use the plastic transformation of materials recovered on site (land art, wood, algae...). Everything could be possible depending on the type of project.

    Bonjour chers amis inconnus, Au croisement de la philosophie et de voyages sensoriels écrits, de la danse contemporaine improvisée et de la liberté du corps émotionnel, de l’art initiatique du Tarot et autres curiosités, j’aimerais partager mes ressources en les matérialisant à travers une ou plusieurs créations mêlant ces axes lors de résidences d’artistes, de rencontres artistiques. Je m’appelle Lou, j’ai 27 ans et j’ai par le passé : préparé depuis les côtes Bretonnes un atelier de méditations philosophiques sur l’expérience qu’est l’horizon océanique, dansé en collectif dans le Grand Est pour une représentation de danse contemporaine, écrit en Ardèche le récit en voix-off du spectacle d’une compagnie de danse contemporaine toujours en cours, écrit un solo de danse théâtralisé, écrit un mémoire de master autour du rapport au réel chez Kant et Durkheim… Il est temps de faire vibrer les cordes de l’imaginaire, que ses flots se répandent sur les terres d’accueil et, peut-être, puissent alimenter, déclencher, se joindre aux sources présentes.     Un beau bonjour, Actuellement à la recherche d'un lieu où je pourrais finaliser un projet d'écriture autour du clown. Ce texte, "Connexion 222", est basé sur le thème du "lien", thème des prochaines SISM (Semaine d'Information sur la santé Mentale). Le spectacle se jouera en octobre à Avignon. J'aurais besoin d'un espace où je pourrais terminer ce projet.
