AZAN residency program aims to welcome artists and introduce them to the Lisbon art scene with the feeling of a shared studio where artists can collaborate, share ideas and develop their work and research. Dialogue and experimentation are encouraged and projects related to the studio and its surroundings are welcomed. The key is to bring artists into a cultural context different from their own, in which they can thrive on cultural and social discourse and explore their own work, giving artists the opportunity to present their work and research.

Description of the area and neighborhood : ased in an industrial building in Marvila, the south-east of Lisbon, surrounded by an artistic environment full of independent spaces, artists studios and galleries.
Facilities (wifi, phone..) : General Private bedroom with double bed Shared studio, kitchen and bathroom Informal and welcoming atmosphere The artistic lodging is best suited for artists, but curators, writers and filmmakers are also welcome to apply Stays between 1 to 6 month; the applicant should indicate the preferred date of stay; and the intended studio area: 70 m2 or 100 m2 Maximum capacity: one person; AZAN has currently only 1 room for the residency Room 14 m2 Furnished (double bed, desk, closet, drawer dresser, bedside table) Air conditioner Sheets and towels included and change every 15 days; Cleaning once a week included Shower & toilet Access to a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine Extra services under request Studio Equipped with a table, a two seat sofa, a coffee table, chairs and a floor lamp and some basic tools Option I: 70 m2 Option II: 100 m2 Note: This is a warehouse. Temperatures can be hotter in the summer and cooler in the winter Conditions Water, electricity and wi-fi included in the fee Option I: Room + 70 m2 studio area Option II: Room + 100 m2 studio area Note: the resident artist has to find their own sponsor to cover the expenses. A security deposit is required in advance to reserve the space.

Wish in exchange for the hosting (ie:a work of art, an original work, singing or painting lessons, a private concert or any other art form) : Residents are encouraged to organize a talk, a work presentation, a happening, a pop-up exhibition during their stay and participate in the zines project. All the events are organized between the artist and AZAN team, in a case-by-case basis.

    Bonjour, J'ouvre ma maison, au centre ville de La Rochelle (marché, Vieux-Port et toutes commodités à pied) pendant le mois d'Aout, où mes enfants sont en vacances chez leurs grand-parents. J'habite ici, et travaille dans le transport maritime au port de commerce de La Pallice. J'ai deux chambres à mettre à disposition, un jardin et un salon où je peins et dessine, à partager :) Notre chatte Otto habite ici aussi :)
