ARTIST STATEMENT:
There isn’t a manual to being an artist, and there isn’t a manual for being alive.
Obstacles and challenges throughout life are inevitable. For me being creative means taking risks and ignoring doubt and facing my fears.
We think with our hands as much as our brains. Creating is a type of meditation, an active training of the mind that increase awareness and emphasizes acceptance of feelings and thoughts without judgment and relaxation of body and mind.
I express myself thru my art, it is in many aspects an extension of who I am.
I am an observer, giving the viewer a ‘slice of life’ be it an emotion, a situation or a moment in time.

Propositions artistiques en échange de la résidence (oeuvres, cours, ateliers, dîner, concert...) : I would like to expand and share my knowledge of creating art in all its forms, from conceptualising, painting, textiles etc. I am very comfortable teaching children and grown ups. I am very varied in my art and process driven. I want to offer fine art painting, (very comfortable in oil, acrylics, mixed media and embroidery) fabric painting and silk screen printing, sun dying, working with nature and to explore eco-dying. I would be very grateful to be considered to be hosted as an artist.
Description du lieu recherché (nature, urbain, autre) : I prefer beautiful open spaces, ample light - Nature Nature, mountains and ocean is my preffered environment. It would be great to also explore urban areas, to visit other galleries and artists for inspiration. I would like to have balance and experience bit of both if possible. I believe in a holistic approach and that all art forms are inevitably moving back to our roots and nature.
Quels sont vos projets de résidence ? : I would like to share my knowledge of creating art in all its forms, from conceptualising, painting & textiles. I am very comfortable teaching children and grown ups. I am very varied in my art and process driven. I want to offer fine art painting, (very comfortable in oil, acrylics, mixed media and embroidery) fabric painting and silk screen printing, sun dying, working with nature and to explore eco-dying. Every so often I offer 'Art Splodges' in my studio, where children, creatives and non creatives are joining in and painting, making collages/art and just connecting thru art. I had quite a few children birthday celebrations where i have silk screenprinted some t shirts with the children and they paint their own t shirts.
Description du type d’espace de travail souhaité (bureau, atelier, salle de répétition…) : Big open Studio space with ample natural light and big windows. A basin and running water. tressel tables, chair,. When eco dying and sun dying is involved it is important to be able to go outside and if there is a few trees or plants around, would be a bonus!
