Artist Residency – Calle Del Remer – Urban
Urban - Venice (Italy) - 25/05/2026Description of the Space The residency which hosted musician Marina Mauriello is now dedicated to research projects in the field of contemporary art. Located in the Cannaregio district, it overlooks a wide Rio Terà between Ca’ d’Oro and Fondamenta Nuove, in an authentic and quiet area of historic Venice. The space has an independent entrance and is arranged over two levels. On the ground floor, there is a studio of approximately 20 sqm with direct access to the calle, an artist laboratory/workspace, and a bathroom. On the upper floor, there is a large hall of approximately 40 sqm with a ceiling height of 3 meters, suitable for exhibitions, meetings, and research activities, offering complete freedom for installations and hanging works. An internal guesthouse is also available, featuring three bedrooms and two bathrooms to support artist residencies. Spirit of the Place The residency is not a traditional hospitality venue, but a space designed to welcome artists, curators, researchers, musicians, and cultural professionals, offering a private and immersive environment dedicated to the development of creative and research projects. The guesthouse is available exclusively within the framework of the artist residency activities. The residency is offered on a paid basis, with costs determined according to the nature of the project and the duration of the stay. It is not based on an exchange of artwork. A Tiny Artist Retreat By The Mediterranean Sea In Ventimiglia – Urban- Ventimiglia (Italy) - 06/09/2026A small independent seaside studio in Ventimiglia, on the Italian Riviera, offered to painters and visual artists looking for a quiet week by the Mediterranean. The apartment is just a few steps from the beach and has its own private rooftop terrace. It can accommodate one artist or a couple. I am particularly interested in painting, drawing and printmaking. The idea is a simple and personal exchange: I offer the accommodation free of charge for up to one week and, in return, I would like to receive an original work by the artist for my private collection. The work does not necessarily have to be created during the stay or inspired by Ventimiglia. It may be an existing work, something created here, or something that comes out of the experience. I prefer to decide together with each artist, according to their practice and work. This is a personal and informal exchange rather than an institutional residency. There are no artistic assignments or required subjects.
