Visual Artist Looking For An Artistic Residency – Visual ArtsVisual arts - JUVIGNAC (France) - 04/04/2025Hello, My name is Manon, I am 28 years old. I am a visual artist and poet. I work with painting, drawing, digital collage and writing to create visual narratives of new possible and existing worlds. My work breaks binary oppositions such as nature/culture, human/non-human, past/future which I consider co-inhabiting the same experience of the world. I explore these tensions through a surrealist aesthetic, placing disturbing characters in everyday settings, both familiar and strange. I draw inspiration from symbols from the history of art as much as from my own memory, to enrich the symbolisms. I deal in particular with themes such as leisure, vacations and the apocalypse. My approach, nourished by ecofeminism, seeks to question our lifestyles and our connection to living things, between the desire to escape and the need for reconnection. Alongside illustration for books, I started illustrating on ceramics and enjoy working with clay when I have the opportunity. In France, alongside my job as an illustrator, I also opened a small art school of which I was the director and where I taught and trained other teachers and also led art therapy workshops. Today, I am a nomad with my family. We discover new countries and new cultures in a motorhome. I have lived in France for five and a half years, the last four of which have been in the Gorges de l'Allier. I am an art and nature photographer. I speak French fluently, I am a native Spanish speaker and I have some knowledge of English. Two years ago, I bought an old farm from 1977 with its various buildings. I am renovating what will be my main residence and, at the same time, I am creating a secondary residence where I plan to accommodate a shared accommodation of artists. The objective of this roommate is to be a place for exchange and development of the career of each artist, by creating spaces for collaboration, creation and exhibition of different artistic creations.

They present the writing of (new) stories as a way to create spaces of care and freedom to “calm the storm and rebuild peaceful places” Through my practice, I seek to give substance to these new stories, to produce spaces for transmission and experiences beyond the boundaries of the book. Words like matter together host the narration of possibilities, their dialogue particularly interests me. poems, short stories, research writings on our relationships with the living, drawings... transform into a roadmap for the creation of installations, video or audio track.
